English daisies have a biennial life cycle, meaning that they will germinate and grow in the first year and produce flowers the second year. If you plan ahead, growing English daisies from seed can produce a new show-stealer in your spring garden. This flower grows quite vigorously, and will quickly expand and reproduce from its original planting area.

How to Grow

Bellis seeds require light to germinate, so don't cover them with soil. Instead, lightly press the seeds into the soil to ensure good contact and to keep moist until germination.

Grow in well-drained, moderately fertile soil in full sun or partial shade. Dead-head to avoid self-sowing. For winter flowering container plants, grow in loam-based potting compost (No. 1), water moderately, and maintain at 39 - 45F.
