Warm Notice:
If you've had untreated hearing loss for some time, being a first-time user of hearing aids will take some getting used to.We may become acclimated to duller noises and muted speech during this time.
When we acquire new hearing aids, the newfound ability to perceive sounds might be overwhelming.Be patient with yourself. Our brains, in particular, become accustomed to hearing with only partial sound information, and hearing aids help to correct this by giving cleaner sound signals.
Spend an hour or two with your hearing aids when you initially bring them home. Gradually increase to three or four hours, then six, and so on. You'll eventually be able to wear your hearing aids for the majority of your waking hours.
Your own voice may sound strange in your head as you speak with new hearing aids.Remember that this is only a temporary situation, and you'll quickly adjust to the experience and benefits of wearing hearing aids, but it will take some time and work.
