The 5 Fitness Components
FLEXIBILITY - Flexibility describes one's ability to move joints in a complete range of motion with ease. Kyra's exercises revolve around stretching that will lengthen a dog's muscles over time.
BALANCE - The focus of balance is evenly distributing weight in order to maintain upright in a steady position. Balance exercises will aide your dog in avoiding future injuries.
STAMINA - Also known as cardio, a dog must have strong stamina to remain active for a long time. Exercises as simple as jogging will increase endurance, decrease anxiety, and reduce the development of chronic diseases.
COORDINATION - Like humans, dogs need to be familiar with how to move their body and muscles in an orderly manner. Coordination exercises are a key component of fitness therapy, as they allow dogs to learn new motor skills and develop muscle memory.
STRENGTH - Training a dog to build strength and complete tasks such as jumping over a high hurdle will help protect bone health and muscle mass.
