The original Flying Scotsman was built in 1923 for the London and North Eastern Railway (LNER). In 1934, the locomotive reached 100 miles per hour and set a world record. This delightful replica of the famous Flying Scotsman features the locomotive with its bright green paint white trim, plus a coal car. Compatible with most wooden railway systems on the market. Each train in the Bigjigs Heritage Collection is beautifully made and features bespoke packaging which includes details of the engine's history, where the engine is located now, and also an image of the original locomotive upon which the replica is based. The Flying Scotsman measures 7-1/2" and is suitable for use by children ages 3 - 8 years.
