ABS plastic sheet characteristics:
High impact resistance and tensile strength
Flexible Than Plexiglass Sheet, Moldable Than Acrylic Sheet.
ABS sheet has two different sides: matte finish and frosted finish (one side is shiny and the other is textured). It’s also possible to sand the textured surface for a finer finish.
Every sheet is covered with film on its matte surface,it can be torn off.
Suggested cutting tools include power cutters (jigsaw, table saw, and band saw), scribing knives, and even water-jet cutting machines. Easily bend and mold these 1/16-inch thick ABS plastic sheets with a heat gun. All you need to do is heat the plastic sheet to 200℉ (93℃), bend or mold it to your desired shape or angle, and support the shape until the sheets cool down.
Parts made with ABS may be joined with machine screws, bolts, nuts, rivets, and spring steel fasteners. Thread cutting or thread-forming screws is an economical means of securing separate joints. Press and snap techniques and sonic welding may also be used for the bonding of ABS.
