Is this unit able to increase the water pressure above the input pressure?

This regulator is for reducing the higher pressure. You can't adjust the water pressure above the pressure of the water source.

Why can't I adjust the water pressure?

You have to run the water in the RV after you hook up to get the pressure set. Water has to be flowing to make adjustments. Then if you turn the regulator you should be able to see the pressure change.

The needle doesn’t move when I turn on the water. What can I do?

If the pressure gauge is stuck and needle doesn't go back to 0 even when regulator is not installed. Take the gauge off and re-screw it on. Then try the regulator again. If the regulator still fails to work, tell us for replacement.

What pressure is it recommended to set it at?

The correct water pressure for an RV can vary depending on the model and the condition of your RV's plumbing system. Most RV experts recommend you never let the water pressure exceed 60 psi. Somewhere around 40 to 50 psi is ideal for many RVs.
