Nephrolepis exaltata 'Compacta' - Compact Boston Fern is a very popular plant mostly grown indoors. It is native to Florida, Mexico, Central and South America. This fern can be moved to the outdoors when temperatures stay above 65 degrees and should be kept in indirect light. Nephrolepis exaltata 'Compacta' - Compact Boston Fern prefers moist, well drained soil and humid conditions. Indoors, this fern would do well in a bathroom or kitchen where humidity levels are higher. A tray of gravel placed under the plant and kept full of water would also give this plant the humidity it so loves. Nephrolepis exaltata - True Boston Fern has dark green fronds and can reach a size of 18" high to 24" wide. This plant does extremely well in hanging baskets.
