MATOW Espresso Spring Loaded Palm Tamper with Stainless Steel Ripple Base

Puck style calibrated tampers (also known as a palm tamper) are also becoming more popular – these look just like a distributor or leveller and tend to be easier to hold and push down, creating a more level surface. They are more suitable for experienced baristas.
The feel of this hand tamper is vital for comfort and ergonomics. Opt for a tamper with a comfortable grip that allows proper pressure to create airtight suction without straining your hand or wrist.
Ripple calibrated tampers are also excellent at providing tactical feedback to users. The ridges or indentations on the base of these tampers create a textured surface that you can feel as you apply pressure to the coffee grounds during the tamping process. This helps you achieve precise and consistent tamping results every time. For what it’s worth, calibrated tampers also offer a similar feedback feature.
